J.R. has frequented the Vineyard for many years, following good friends that made the Island their home. After living in Texas, New York, Illinois, Arizona, Switzerland, Germany and Italy, he made the decision, with his husband Simon, to begin planting some roots here, building a house in West Tisbury 10 years ago, and making the move to become a full time MV resident, intently getting to know this Island, and all its treasures. He is especially a connoisseur of the Island’s beaches and walking/biking trails.

After an extensive career in the corporate world of Human Resources, serving as Head of HR for several companies in industries such as tech, biotech, pharma and manufacturing, he took the step to transition into real estate.  Cultivating  his passion for homes and real estate on MV, and seeking to use his trained negotiation and relationship building skills, J.R. joined Portfolio Properties to deepen his understanding and knowledge of the Island’s unique market. He is building a reputation for connecting clients with their ideal properties, whether they’re seeking vacation homes, investment opportunities, or year-round residences. This extensive local knowledge, combined with his commitment to client satisfaction makes him a trusted resource for the MV real estate community.

J.R. now lives in West Tisbury near Ice House Pond with his husband Simon and their 2 precious pups, Baker (the pit mix) & Butler (the golden doodle).
